true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 i need help here,my light is still yellow,i dont have a router but i have a switch,made by D-link DES-1005D.what can i do to get green light.my firewall is PC-cillin Internet Security 2006.thanks
Switeck Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 Your ADSL/Cable modem may contain a firewall or mini-router inside it that needs to be configured.GOOGLE up some info on the exact make and model, or visit the maker's website (not your ISP's) to find out more about it.
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 I just change my anti virus to zonealarm,i have follow a steup from here for zonealarm, but the light is still yellow.if anybody have another setup for zonealarm pls share it with me..thanks
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 I think i know why the light stayed yellow.i should check it before.on my computer i have a wireless network to a laptop,so this program is trying to map a to my network connection.this is what i found in the logger (Unable to map UPnP port to 192.168.0.1:32459) that address is for the wireless connection.how can get this utorrent to map it on my orignal ip address...
DreadWingKnight Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 zonealarm isn't an antivirus, it's a firewall, and a crappy one at that.
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 oh i see,but i have zonealrm with anti virus.firewall and anti virus together.so i dont know what you talking about.check it out from their webpage and see if im lying or not.so do you have any help for me on this thing im trying to setup or are you just going to sit there and tell me,what is an anti virus or a firewall?
DreadWingKnight Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 Uninstall them both. With a 192.168.x.x you have a router, rendering any software firewall about 90% useless.http://portforward.com/routers.htm
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 my ip address is not that address, that address is for my network connection that i setup with my laptop.so how can i get utorrent to connect to my real ip address, instead of connecting to my wireless network?
µtorrent-Guest Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 µtorrent has nothing "to map to". UPnP works not very wll with all routers.Follow the link: http://www.portforward.com/help/pfprogression.htmPortForward.com - The port forwarding progression.
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 i have been to that page, but no help for me there, cause i dnt have a router
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 i have a wireless network connection to my laptop, utorrent is trying to connect to my wireless connection.instead of my internet connection
Switeck Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 There's a bind-to-ip options in µTorrent, so you can "tie" µTorrent to your internet link instead of your laptop. They're under ADVANCED settings:net.bind_ipandnet.outgoing_ipTry using them.
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 what should i set them to,i found it but i dont know what to do with themi mean how will i tie them up to my internet connection?
Switeck Posted May 27, 2006 Report Posted May 27, 2006 You enter your ip address on the net.bind_ip. (I think)And no, I don't know what your ip address is!
true_bolla Posted May 27, 2006 Author Report Posted May 27, 2006 so what will i enter to the other place
