Kinseeker69 Posted July 16, 2014 Report Share Posted July 16, 2014 Keep getting Error: Access is denied (Write to disk) after updating to version 3.4.2 (build 32354) Changed the permissions, Directories, Ran as Admin and still nothing. The previous version worked fine UNTIL it made me update to current version. I've even uninstalled/Reinstaled and nothing. I really have no idea what to do next. Any suggestions ? You could try locating the EXE, right-click > Properties, and if there's an unblock button at the bottom right click it. Kitsoran Posted July 27, 2014 Report Share Posted July 27, 2014 Hmmmmmmmmm, doesn't look horrible, as long as you reinstalled Norton 360 after fully uninstalling it. I've tried everything I could think of short of reformatting my drives (NOT gonna happen). It's really a GOOD thing I didn't pay for the Pro version, I'd be asking for a refund. RhinoNZ Posted August 3, 2014 Report Share Posted August 3, 2014 I just finished a fresh install of windows & uTorrent was the first thing I installed, so there were no other factors such as firewalls or virus checkers getting in the way & I got this error as well. Here is what I found & how I fixed it. I always had the torrents going to a specific torrent folder prior to re-install & set this up again as the default folder. Unfortunately for some reason the permissions to this folder were modified in some way & I basically what that ment was that uTorrent didn't like to put any more files in there. Tried everything from modifying permissions, to advanced security overrides of taking full admin control of folders with no effect. Try to make a fresh new folder for your torrents & then point uTorrent to that directory for your downloads. (Options>Preferences>Directories, tick checkbox Put new downloads in:, point this at your new folder) It worked fine for me after that. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's obvious to me that the owners of uTorrent doesn't want to fix this constant issue. And this is to the owners of uTorrent.
