uTorrent does't respound after cache gets full

I have a gigabit internet connection and recently I installed windows 8.1 x64, before I had win 7 x64.

 

Someone gave me some settings for my uttorrent, after weeks of trying to different  settings.

They worked well, I had my cache set to 1GB and when the cache reached 1GB the download speed was getting down allowing utorrent to write down the data to hdd. That was on windows 7.

When i moved to windows 8.1 i imported my setting from the utorrent folder. But now when I download something, if my cache gets full, my download speeds slow down to 0 but the caches stays full, utorrent doesn't write the cache on the hdd.

And also my disk activity is 100%, write speed 0, and reading speed 10-11MB/s (no other programs are using this hdd)

 

The thing is, it was working fine on the windows 7, why doesn't work on windows 8.1 too ?

I've had my cache jam on Win 7. The disk cache seems to have been wonky for a while now. How long are you waiting? Does the Windows Resource Monitor in the Disk tab show a disk queue length >=1 on the drive you're downloading to?

The disk queue length is 6-8 and sometimes goes up to 15.

And I need to wait like 10-15 mins.

I think It's a bug, were they stop everything when the cache is exactly full. . Try the latest beta, maybe it was fixed there. You might - also want to try use my settings (adjust the speed limit)....

With your settings my cache gets full in like 10 sec, with cache 1GB, then the utorrent doesn't respond anymore, I couldn't restart my pc either.

I have the same problem, tried with the latest beta, the problem still exist. When my cache gets full, utorrent and my PC is freezing, (no answer) and I can't do anything except cut off the power. Win 8.1.

A disk queue length greater than 1 means the drive is not fast enough to keep up with current activity. Combined with the uT cache not emptying leads me to believe that the Windows cache is busy flushing to disk.

 

Resource Monitors disk activity section will also show processes using the disk. It might show something interesting, or just something obvious.
