Can't upload & download / no peers

psyduck

Recommended Posts

It has worked fine up until today, this is the first time it doesn't download nor upload.

All torrents have become inactive.

Even though I've tried multiple torrents that should have sufficient seeders, for some reason when I open them in utorrent no peers show up.

I didn't get an error message.

I've checked for updates, there aren't any.

I've tried restarting utorrent, restarting the computer and reinstalling utorrent, all without success.

Network connection is working, I can access the internet.

I've tried to remove the dht.dat + dht.dat.old files & restarted, didn't work.

I've tried to turn of AVG security & restarted, didn't work.

I have xsforall as network provider (the Netherlands).

I've chosen a new port (multiple times) & restarted, didn't work.

[DHT] waiting for announce

[Local Peer Discovery] working

[Peer Exchange] working

connection timed out

What can I do to solve the problem?

I have exactly the same problem - Internet Fine/Browser Fine/Connection Fine - UTorrent Dead but shows me as Downloading and Seeding but with No Peers/Leechers.

The attached is my Logger report- Interestingly it says error opening Windows Firewall but I am using Avast and Windows is off.

Problem started suddenly yesterday - I'm a  bit green on these issues so appreciate any help.

Logger:

Ok, so I tried a bunch of things, noticing that uT didn't work on my laptop either. I could download a (guaranteed to work?) torrent from another help thread, but I couldn't seed it, and the trackers remained the same as I initially posted. I checked the firewall, but everything was in order. I tried installing a very outdated version of uTorrent through an old set-up still left on my desktop, but the problem remained. I even tried installing a different torrentclient, but nothing solved the problem. However, I gained a lead when I tried to access my router/modem (combo) user interface thing (by typing my IP address in the browser) and couldn't access it. It didn't matter which browser I used. Nothing worked. So I called xsforall (provider) thinking this was odd, and thank God they aren't afraid of piracy, because they guided me through the steps to reconfigure my router/modem-thing. I had to use a wired connection, on which I could access the user interface again, and go through a wizard for reconfiguration. After getting it back to manufacturer's settings, everything worked again. I can access the interface using wi-fi again and most importantly, uTorrent has started working again! What caused my problem will forever remain a mystery, but at least this solution has helped me, so I'm posting it here as a reference for others (I guess?).
