Tartdog Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 Thanks for your time, how do I come to work out what value I should enter in the upload rate box,100?,1000?.cheers.Tartdog.
Firon Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Have you even used the Speed Guide to figure out what your max upload speed is?
Tartdog Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 yes I have but due to a personal disability I am in need of a guided hand as to what I should put there.I am on a 2mbps d/l package, sorry for the inconveince but I am grateful.Tartdog.
Firon Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 You have to choose your -upload-. Stop all your torrents, then run the speed test and get your upload in kbit/s.
Tartdog Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 Hi,Thanks for your time, have run a test at a UK site shown on speed test and showing 1702.5 kilobits per second and 208.6 kilobytes per second, which one is my upload and would that be the one I enter into options/preferences/network. 1)Global Max upload rate? 2)Alternate upload rate once again thanks.Tartdog.
Firon Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 Press Ctrl G in the client, choose xx/256kbit from the list. Then lower your global max upload rate to 20. If you wanna use a higher upload rate when seeding, set a value in Alternate upload rate. You can set it to 26 or 0 if you want, but this might make your connection a bit slower.
Tartdog Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 Ok think I've got the hang of it,as said b4 thanks.Tartdog.
