tonepaq Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 On some of my torrents I seem to send bad peices when trying to seed. The leech recieves hashfails and then bans my ip. I am using private trackers. Have heard I may have bad ram, but it checked out ok. When this is happening and I bypass my Linksys router and go straight through the cable modem, it works for a second then bans this ip. One other thing, When I first open the torrent in utorrent and it opens the window where it shows all the files, if i just choose to start the torrent, it checks data as it should then stops at 99.3% and says downloading even though I hAVE THE FULL FILE!!!!! If I click the 'open for seeding' box, it goes to %100 and says seeding, but I cant send good data to peers. Firon Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 If force re-check drops the percentage, your files are corrupted or have been changed.
tonepaq Posted May 31, 2006 Author Report Posted May 31, 2006 Yes, if I stop the torrent and force re-check, it just goes to 99.3%....I will re-create the torrent and see what happens I suppose
tonepaq Posted June 1, 2006 Author Report Posted June 1, 2006 is that what I am dealing with? How do I see this file and better yet how do I not create it?
DreadWingKnight Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 The thumbs.db is a hidden+system file. You'd need to enable showing of those files in the folder options.Disabling thumbnail caching is another option.
Switeck Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 Thumbs.DB is probably the culprit....Either that or a virus/trojan is corrupting your files.
Lexxington Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 is that what I am dealing with? How do I see this file and better yet how do I not create it?To 'see it' just open a window, e.g. 'My Computer' or whatever then go to Tools->Folder Options...Click on the 'View' tab, Look in 'Hidden files and folders' and select the 'Show hidden files and folders' radio button. To 'not create it' in the first place, follow the above but look in 'Files and Folders' and make sure 'Do not cache thumbnails' IS checkedHTH
