i found uTorrent the best client up to date now... but there is one problem... as i enable DHT... it starts to Freezes.... recently got some files whose peers were on DHT by that i also came to know that DHT is an important thing to b enabled while downloading, but were unable to download them coz as i enable DHT uTorrnet starts to Freeze HANG or Not Responding what ever u say... as i Disable DHT every thing is 'LASH TE PASH'.... just the DHT... which is causing uTorrent to Freeze and DHT is important....

SO IN THE END I HAD TO SHIFT AN OTHER CLIENT AND I M NOW USING THAT CLIENT COZ DHT IS WORKING IN THAT CLIENT..

If DHT causes freezes, it's almost certainly due to poor hardware on your end.

You'll have to disable DHT if that's what it's doing.

Peer Exchange is probably as good or better than DHT and it won't cause you those freezing problems.

...and numerous other clients do NOT have Peer Exchange!

...PLEASE DONT SHOUT IN THE FORUMS, IT'S VERY RUDE!!!!

Back on track, what router are you using?

Cant say about the ROUTER...... but DHT is working in BitComet

So? That's bitcomet, not utorrent

?? what u mean..!?

DHT is working in BitComet not in uTorrent.

so there wont b any Hardware problem.

Uninstall your firewall.

there are two firewalll, one on my server that is ISA... there every port is open so no harm from there... and second is windows XP's i disbale that firewall but the icon still didnt went to green.. it is Yellow with a popup showing [No Incoming connections unless the icon turns green it could indicate a problem with your connection]

but hey .. i came to knw that DHT is getting peers and data is downloading... i mean DHT is seems to be working... but all in all the freeze problems is still there and i also came to notice that when DHT is UPDATING is itself at that time uTorrnet window freezes other wise it is going superbly... .. . .

Nothing being blocked is not the same as overloading due to faulty software/hardware.

Firon's saying the ISA firewall is quite simply crap, and he's probably right.

So if your ISP's ISA firewall isn't blocking...is BitComet firewalled too?

If not, then there's probably some difference between the 2...maybe BitComet's UPnP attempts work but the current version of µTorrent's UPnP doesn't?

If BitComet is firewalled to, and you can get µTorrent or BitComet unfirewalled when you hook your computer to someone else's internet connection...then chances are your ADSL/Cable modem has a firewall and/or router in it that is blocking. ...or your ISP is lying to you. But that last possibility can only even be pursued after eliminating the other possibilities.
