utorrent blocked by group policy

Hello,

 

Ever since yesterday, I can't run µtorrent. I get the "program blocked by group policy" message.

I'm using windows 7 pro on my home pc (laptop). I never had this issue before.

I ran into the "googleupdate.a3x" malware issue the other day which was promptly resolved, but I wonder if it might be somehow related.

My PC is clean (avast, malwarebytes show nothing).

I've been using Cryptoprevent as well. Could it be the reason behind the current issue ?

Ok. Well, once I used my brain, I found a solution.

 

I uninstalled Cryptoprevent and everything is back to normal. Now, I must find a way to use both programs at the same time. Any idea?

Hi, what you need to do is update the group policy, adding utorrent.exe to the whitelist, you can do this using the CryptoPrevent software restriction policy editor, to use the editor just click the advanced tab in the main program window and select the "Software restriction policy editor", from there on it is all very obvious how to modify the policy.
