Nighthawk
Utorrent worked fine for a short while, now every time I try to paste a URL this message comes up in a box - Unable to load uttDD.tmp. I have used the search facility in the forums - but got no hit, can any one offer any assistance?
DreadWingKnight
What happens when you save the torrent using your browser then load them from the hard drive?Have you checked the folders for storage of torrent files (Preferences->folders) to see if they're being stored in the default %appdata%\uTorrent or somewhere else? Nighthawk
DreadWingKnight, Thanks both for attempting to help and for the very prompt reply. I am an older (very) menber of the online community and as such not very technically minded. The program worked for a while, when it was first set up every thing was ok. I then found one day that all the torrent files ( mostly older british comedy) had dissapeared. I set about trying to find the folder that they would have been kept in when it was first set up, by doing a search on my machine- but could not find them. I will look to see if I can find it with your helpful post and come back to let you know. when the program set up initially I just clicked on things (links) and the program would just go about its business, then that stopped and I had to copy and paste the links, now it just give that message every time?ThankyouNighthawk
Switeck
Strangely-named filenames coming up in error messages suggests virus infections on a computer.

Nighthawk
DreadWingKnight, Switeck, & kewldude607, I thank you all for your attempts to assist, using the information from DreadWingKnight, I have located the folder - however noting is in it other than a .dat file which tries to open using nero vision? I pointed the program to the file to save too as per DreadWingKnight, now the error message has changed to: - uttDD205.tmp etc. Plus I am now getting other error messages, the latest Kaspersky update is not picking up any virus or worm - updated today? Many thanks for any assistance.Nighthawk. Firon
No it isn't, you're just using a site that requires logins or referrer information. Save it manually. Or the site the actual torrent is hosted on could be down.
Switeck
Ok, if the latest Kaspersky AV update says it's not a virus...it probably isn't.

Nighthawk
Firon, Switeck, thank you both for your efforts, Firon I understand your words "you're just using a site that requires logins or referrer information. Save it manually." but as explained earlier on, I'm not from the normal age group (Iam over 60) and frankly I find it a struggle to try to comprehend. Like I said, I understand your words, but I do not know how to put them in practice. I am sorry I have troubled you, I thank you for your efforts on my behalf, And I will not trouble anyone on this matter again.Nighthawk.
Firon
To put it simply, don't use add by URL. Use your browser.
Nighthawk
Found the answer elsewhere - utorrent had lost its file association in control panel - folder options hope this may help others. Goodbye.
