Question about seeds and peers

Hi All,

 

I'm trying to download a file where there are about 90 peers and 0 seeds. Since there are no seeds I can't start a download but how do you get to be the first downloader so it can start seeding? How does it all get started?

 

It's probably not relevant but I am using uTorrent version 3.4.2

If there is no one with the full fileset or no combination of people with the full fileset (availability needs to be greater than 1.0) you won't be able to complete.

So once someone logs in with the file the seeds should go up to one.  What I still don't understand is how there can be so many peers if no seeds?  Are they like me, just waiting for a seeding?
