siroj Posted January 23, 2015 Report Share Posted January 23, 2015 We have a server running uTorrent 3.4.2 that is running as a tracker and we don't want it to contact external resources nor be available to external clients. Therefore we disabled DHT on uTorrent running as a Tracker. No portforwards exist from external to our server.Clients in our network run the same version of uTorrent as a client and try to download data from our internal tracker. The clients are logging status changes to a logfile.In this logfile every torrentfile that starts to download logs status 22 (Need DHT (enable DHT to download)). It then takes several minutes for the download to start. From this point everything seems to work well. Why are clients reporting this status, and any tips on how to speed up the initial download? siroj Posted January 23, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 23, 2015 On the server we create the torrentfile with the trackerurl of our local uTorrent tracker + portWe then distribute these torrentfiles to our clients through a netwerkshare and they get loaded automagically.
