canuck_kat Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I looked around the forum and couldn't find a solution for this so...During the re-check I get [time of day] ReadFile error: [filename][numbers which I don't know how to interprete]This is really annoying cuz it leads to several completed files not being picked up during the re-check, forcing them to be re-download. Also, parts of completed files aren't recognized as completed. How do I fix this cuz I've been forced to download some files in the single torrent around 5 or 6 times now.
Firon Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 it means the files aren't matching the hash check, and/or are the wrong size (which also means they're failing the hash check).Your files ARE NOT complete.
chintue Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 I'm having this exact same problem, why did they show up as 100% and clear the hash check the first time around, and then fail the second time. If the integrity check isnt strong enough to pick up the error on the initial processing, then how can you consider it valid at any point, if there are obviously instances where a second guess proves it wrong. Please advise.
chintue Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Seriously, think about the implications here:uTorrent is validating files and sending them to other people, but then, it says hey this file is not good.Which is it? Is utorrent reallying poisoning all torrents slowly over time due to a round off error? This really has me troubled :-/
µtorrent-Guest Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 chintue: oviously something on your system is changing the files afterwards, either some malware that messa round with your avi or your HDD has a problem.(P.S. on your other post 5 minutes earlier violates the forum rules!)Posting about any illegal sharing of copyrighted content is strictly FORBIDDEN.
chintue Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Thanks for the suggestion guest, but my hex editor disagrees with you.
