catmandio
We all know that in the create torrent dialog there's an option for 'Create Encrypted'. All answers on this forum are useless regarding this option: how does this work? How are files encrypted? How do users then decrypt them? I have tested this and now have a random hash as the downloaded file on the client end: how do I get this into a usable format? What's the point of encryption that is passwordless unless the client automatically decrypts the file on completion? If there is a password, where do we set it, or view it? Why is there no decrypt option? Please, give us something useful, not an explanation of what encrytion is in general or how to generically decrypt files (e.g. use the key) - this is not helpful! DreadWingKnight
Encrypted torrents simply scramble the file and folder names in the torrent. You end up needing the original file list from the person who made the torrent to rename them properly.
catmandio
Thank you for the prompt reply, however: I have tested this; renaming the file to the EXACT original name does not render it usable!
