Just registered out of desperation to post this so please bear with me.  Running Windows 7, often, although not always get the dreaded error:

" cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file"

on some torrents it happens everz 10 seconds, others run smoothly, and some crash once, and then run smoothly after a "forced start"

Have seen various posts & various solutions, and probably have done all that is posted:

-have disabled disk flush

-have disabled & changed antivirus

-have disabled windows search

-have changed download directory location

 

not sure how to know which actual file is being locked, so haven't been able to get much help from "unlocker"

For some reason the above is the only way I managed to post the highjackthis log as it wouldn't allow me to copy&paste (again bear with me pls)

any insight on what else I might try and do would be extremely appreciated

thank you very much.
Have tried pausing the antivirus, should I really just trust defender only?
Don't believe I have any media indexers have disabled all apple/ipad/itunes etc processes in case there's an indexer in there
