TheShadowRunner Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 Easy one! When a torrent is queued and selected, pressing the start button starts it as "Force Start" (Downloading [F])Thanks!TSR
TheShadowRunner Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 no it's not. besides, Start has no use on "queued" torrents for now so it's not like it would break anything.later,TSR
DreadWingKnight Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 We don't want a wave of idiots accidentally force starting a bunch of torrents then complaining that their speeds have gone to shit thanks.
Nefarious Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 rightclick > force startit's to "force" somethen right? so u have to force it, u dont want it to become forced just for a mistake huh? well, maybe u do, but i dont. Right-click then Force Start and u are on control of everything.
TheShadowRunner Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 well, at least an option somewhere to enable this feature would be nice for non-n00bs then See you!TSR
Firon Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 This just isn't one that's gonna happen. Use Force Start, stop being lazy.
TheShadowRunner Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 well it's not being lazy. this feature makes perfect sense, but w/e.You're the admin, you win, kudos to u.Later,TSR
Nefarious Posted June 7, 2006 Report Posted June 7, 2006 It's lazy...and if u take a look at how many people ask for every single thing to be made an option u would understand why it is not done into an option.
TheShadowRunner Posted June 8, 2006 Author Report Posted June 8, 2006 If not as a standard option, maybe as an Advanced one.Like :gui.start_button_force_start_onqueued values: false (default) / trueI can always dream Later,TSR
Ultima Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 It really isn't that much harder to right click (I mean, come on, is one right click that much more work?). In any case, DWK's got the strongest argument, and making an option just for non-newbies is hardly worth the trouble, IMHO.
seanon Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 This would be helpful, either this, or a way to enable a force start button on the toolbar, if not always, they by configuration. Right click is great and all but when connecting to the webui via a mobile device where right clicks aren't necessarily available, I'd still like to fire them up on occasion to bypass the scheduler. Thanks in advance for further consideration.
Switeck Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Bad idea to cause additional user confusion.Force start = force start. Not a bunch of other conditions can also mean force start!
seanon Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 That's fair, forced start = forced start, surely there must be some solution to allow for a forced start on a torrent when there is no mechanism to pull up the right click menu.
