elguaxo
I searched and read a couple of 'super seeding' posts but none answered my question, so here I go.I am using utorrent 1.5 and I used Super Seeding for the first time with a 1.46GB file. I was the onley source and the seeding was very 'frugal'. After seeding 1.55 GB (aprox.) I saw a lot of peers stucked at 99% (aprox.) and my client was not uploading anything. I waited long and nothing happened. Then I disabled Super Seeding and everyone was able to complete the download. What happened? Perhaps someone already got that missing part and disconnected and utorrent didn't seed it again? Thanks.
Firon
Super-seeding's broken in µTorrent. Please don't use it.

WebReaper
I know everyone keeps asking, but are there any actual plans to fix it?
Firon
Yes. But it's hard because we have no idea WHAT'S wrong with the super-seeding code.
elguaxo
In my case Super-Seeding was very good. The only problem was near the end.I will try BitTornado just for Super-Seeding next time. Thanks for the tip.
Firon
You'd have to remember to turn off super-seeding if you stuck with it.
elguaxo
Yes, I think I will keep using utorrent for super-seeding. The seeds appeared after uploading only 106-107%.
Switeck
Firon, if you don't know what's wrong with Super-Seeding...how about making it turn off automatically when availability gets over 0.95 (before the problems occur)?
Stone
Yes. But it's hard because we have no idea WHAT'S wrong with the super-seeding code. But can't ludde compare µT super-seeding code to BitTornado's one? Or are they completely different (I'm not talking about difference between Python and C++). rudolfo2
Yes, I think I will keep using utorrent for super-seeding. The seeds appeared after uploading only 106-107%.I'm with you, there's nothing wrong. It works just fine.
Ultima
It's cool that it works for some people, but it's still busted most of the time, and that's been proven time and time again, even by Firon and DWK.
Anime Janai
What I do is use my old ancient Shadow (now known as bitTornado) to do the final bit of superseeding of the uTorrent torrents. Shadow superseeding REMAINS in superseeding mode no matter how many other clients reach 100%. I like this feature since many people who reach 100% do not upload when they reach 100% or quit the torrent. Thus, those users reaching 100% end up turning off my superseeding mode which is undesirable.
Ultima
Initial seeding appears to have been fixed in build 466... 2 torrents were tested, each with successful completion, and a ratio of 1.025-1.07 for the initial seeder.

elguaxo
Great success. I super-seeded a 1.46GB file, everything ok from start to end. I used utorrent 1.5.1 beta, build 466.The peers were: 9 Azureus (all v2.4.0.2) 6 BitComet (v0.60, 0.62, 0.63, 0.67, 0.68, 0.70) 1 BitTornado (v0.3.7) 1 Mainline (v4.9.9) 9 utorrent (all v1.5)

elguaxo
1.096 and I stopped. Almost 10 seeds were available at that moment.

Omegatron
I find that i cant get about about 30kbs on the superseed...were as without it i seed at about 300kbs...I can also only get one peer with super seed....(is that normal)
Ultima
That's how it works. Super seeding will almost undoubtedly decrease your upload speed, but it will also almost undoubtedly decrease the amount of time it takes to get another full copy of the torrent out as well.
