stretch87
i've been using 1.5 since it came out and i've never had any problems with it, until today. i didn't change any of utorrents settings nor any other settings on my computer, but utorrent started acting differently. all of a sudden my computer randomly restarted, which it has never done before. when i started back up the first thing i did was check the temperature readings. holy shit my cpu was nearly at 50C! so then i opened up the windows task manager to see how much cpu was being used and it was around 40%, all being used by utorrent. i have a 2.7 GHz intel dual core so the amount of cpu that utorrent normally uses shows up as 0% to 5%. i tried closing utorrent and restarting my computer, no luckwhat's the problem? spudwiser
I have a duel core intel 2.66 cpu that always runs between 60 and 65C. When i had this problem last I ended up redownloading utorrent and it worked for me. Also i found if i have more than one P2P program running with utorrent, the cpu usage goes through the roof. Ultima
Erm... what security softwares are you using? Did you use Windows Update lately? I seriously doubt it'd cause problems, but if you did use Windows Update, maybe you might want to try patching TCPIP.SYS again?
stretch87
Erm... what security softwares are you using? Did you use Windows Update lately? I seriously doubt it'd cause problems, but if you did use Windows Update, maybe you might want to try patching TCPIP.SYS again?you my friend, may be a genious! i did use windows update either on the day or the day before i noticed the problem. i'll give your solution a tryas for security software, i'm using avg free, spybot, and ad-aware, but i've been using that combination for over a year with utorrent without a problem so i highly doubt any of those could be the cause. and i didn't install an new software recently so the windows update thing seems most likely as of nowEdit: i have no how to find the TCPIP.SYS patch...i searched microsofts site and googled it. i actually don't really know what i'm looking for. further instruction would be appreciated (i have to use azureus in until i get this fixed!!! holy crap does it suck in comparison to utorrent)

Ultima
Interesting... I wonder why CPU usage is increasing now due to the TCPIP.SYS limit being hit...
