conquerist
I saw the 39744 release note post about an hour after it was posted, clicked the download link (http://www.utorrent.com/downloads/complete/os/win/track/stable) and the file I received was 39744. No special tricks involved ;-).Bug looks to be fixed. A big thanks to everyone involved for fixing it!

DreadWingKnight
He's not having the same problem and is instead thread hijacking to try to get help. This is strike 2.
talkingprawn
Rafi, Conquerist, and all others who saw this problem last week -- can you please try a new beta I have posted which I believe fixes this issue? I'm fairly confident we found the problem but would really appreciate your help in verifying the fix in your install. http://download-new.utorrent.com/uuid/b296db6e-8894-4b95-a2c8-2fc690e7682d Please let us know? Fyi the issue we found and fixed in this binary was an infinite loop in parsing MP3s, specifically those with larger header sections. I was able to duplicate the behavior you mentioned (very high CPU usage and failure to shut down) in both fully downloaded torrents and torrents in process. I am unable to duplicate it with this binary. We have another fix for the "sluggish ui while navigating between torrents" problem, that is not included here. conquerist
I am afraid that the 100% CPU / refusing to close behavior has returned in 39776! It appeared later than before though, some 3-4 hours after opening uTorrent.
