N4TE_B
Today, we are offering the µTorrent community early access to the Maelstrom browser as an open beta. This is the first public version of Maelstrom for PC. µTorrent ’s parent company, BitTorrent, Inc., has been working on this technology for the past year, releasing an alpha version of Project Maelstrom last December. The two major features of Maelstrom that set it apart from other Browsers are: The ability to seamlessly download and stream torrent content straight in the browser window. While there is native Bundle support, normal .torrent files work just as well. The ability to develop, publish and visit decentralized web content. In other words, it allows for the creation of a server-less web, relying on the swarm to serve web content to those that make a request for pages that have been viewed and cached by peers. The Maelstrom browser merges the people-powered BitTorrent Protocol with traditional web browsing. It’s a step toward what we believe is the Internet of the Future. The Maelstrom browser is powered by you. Simply browse websites and Maelstrom will help you stream directly, download quickly, and experience new content from a growing list of innovative of publishers and developers. Developers and publishers interested in learning more about how they can build and publish for Project Maelstrom can learn more at http://project-maelstrom.bittorrent.com Download now and experience the next step in truly developing an Internet powered by the people.
