uTorrent updated to 3.4.3 Build 40208 and now crashes shortly after opening

My uTorrent automatically updated itself to version 3.4.3 Build 40208 and now it crashes soon after opening. Before it crashes it seems to work fine, except now opening files from VLC no longer works and instead gives a "failed to launch player []" message. I tried changing it to windows media player, and default media player but I get the same message. The uTorrent media player does work but I do not want that.

How can I debug this without losing the torrents and labels I have within uTorrent currently?

I have the same issue, since I got the version 3.4.3 Build 40208 automatically yesterday I cant use the program, it opens up, I get the Utorrent Pro publicity screen and the image flash all around it and if I close it then Utorrent crash if I let it alone and dont touch anything it takes about 30seconds before it crashes, I hope they get it fixed soon or I'll need to use another Torrent client.

I'm not sure if this should go here instead of in the "bug" thread, but since it already exists here...

I have more or less the same problem as lordboski describe. Well, actually, you could say it's the same. There's the same flikering and all, the real difference is the time it takes before shutting down. If I don't touch anything it takes (after a few tries) between 3 and 24 seconds. If I try closing the Utorrent Pro publicity as soon as it opens I get more time, but even than we're talking between 30 and 45 seconds.

Interestingly enough, the flikering stops instently when I close the ad. There might be a link between this and the crashing.

If anyone else has this problem, I should advise something: Keep comming to the website frequently. I'm not sure how the update system works, but I doubt it would have time to detect, download and install it before it would crash.

My utorrent is now doing the same thing.  Flickering screen around the popup, crash dump notification, etc. I rebooted my computer this morning and this is what I get for it.  I close out the upgrade popup as fast as I can and ignore the crash dump notice.  Utorrent continues to run in the background and I can add torrents to it so I will just have to wait for my far more computer savvy other half to get home from work I guess.  Right now I have utorrent minimized so I can do my other tasks for the morning but it's still a bit of a hassle.  Sorry guys, but I'm glad I'm not the only one having this issue!
