bblackmoor Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 I have an intermittent problem pertaining to the treatment of torrents which have the same directory name. Let's say I have a collection of server health reports which are in a torrent called "Server_Health_Reports". Each week, a new, unique torrent is created, containing a set of reports each week. I have no control over the name of the torrent: it is, always, "Server_Health_Reports". uTorrent knows that these are different torrents, but when it downloads them, it puts them into the same directory: "Server_Health_Reports". As you can imagine, this begins to cause problems when (for whatever reason) I attempt to download a new torrent by that name before the previous one is complete (these reports are quite large, and my download speed is quite slow, so this happens more often than you might think). How may I ensure that the directory names that uTorrent automatically creates for each torrent are unique? Is there a way to have uTorrent automatically append the date to the directory name, or perhaps automatically append a few characters from a hash, or something? I would not call this a "bug", but nor would I call this an "edge case". I can imagine a great many potential reasons why two torrents with the same name would be downloaded at the same time. I am sure that my situation is not unique. Thank you for your assistance.
