chickenhead
Hey I've recently changed from my old 512/288kbps isp to a new 2272/288kbps line. With the old line I could usually get download speeds of around 45-50 after following the speed guide. I've been through the guide again after my new line was connected, and am now getting speeds of around 50-60kbps. Is this normal - I must admit I don't really understand all the numbers, but I assumed I would be getting faster speeds as the new line is around 4x faster than the old one. Have I missed something, or have I got the wrong end of the stick entirely!Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Switeck
You're not able to upload much faster than you did on the old line -- if any.Download speeds are often tied to how fast you are uploading.(...so long as you're not overloading your upload bandwidth doing it!)So if you're not uploading any faster, the extra download speed you're getting is "leftover" upload bandwidth that seeds and peers have.Do note that your download speed increase probably comes at someone else's loss.
