pcol
This is a message from a beginner in upload science.I have a couple of nice files I want to share with the community, I created a torrent for each of them but I have no idea how to set up a tracker. Do I need a tracker? If so, how to create one?And where to publish it? (Those a soccer-related files, if that helps...)Thank you for your help.Phil

pcol
Thank you. Now that I deciphered the FAQ, I am starting to understand how the whole thing works.Do you recommend specific web sites to upload trackers? It seems that some are anonymous and other require login+pwd, but the few I have tried (smartorrent, for instance) work sometimes and sometimes don't.Any input/suggestion is appreciated. Thanks!Phil
Ultima
There aren't really any recommended sites -- whatever you feel like.
pcol
I have created a bunch of similar torrents using the same trackers and uploaded them on the same sites. Two of these torrents don't seem to work, are stuck to 0 upload and display an "*" between Name and Size. What does that mean?Any clue? Thanks!Phil
DreadWingKnight
"*" means the torrent hasn't reached seeding goal yet.
pcol
Thanks.I am trying to upload the same torrent (with several trackers) onto various sites, but some of them reject it even if their tracker address is properly typed in the torrent.Does the order of the trackers have any importance? Is there any limit in the number of trackers a torrent file can hold?Phil
Ultima
Nope to both questions.
DreadWingKnight
There's no protocol-imposed limit to the number of trackers. The limit comes from the practicality of having so many trackers in a torrent at a time.http://wiki.depthstrike.com/index.php/P2P:Protocol:Specifications:Multitrackerhttp://wiki.depthstrike.com/index.php/P2P:Protocol:Specifications:Multitracker:HowTo:uTorrent
