Indigoman Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 I have Utorrent installed on two machines, one is a 64 bit win7 laptop, on which the program and download speeds work perfectly, the other is my 32 bit win xp desktop, on which the program itself is really sluggish and has a really low "fps" and also the download speeds are really low, even when connected to the same network as the laptop. I'd like to add that the big pc win winXP is connected to the router via cable, and the laptop is connected via wifi. Also, although the win xp desktop is older than the win7 laptop, Utorrent is the only program that runs that slow on the desktop..what is the problem and what can I do?
DreadWingKnight Posted May 20, 2015 Report Posted May 20, 2015 What internet security software do you run on your XP machine?
Indigoman Posted May 21, 2015 Author Report Posted May 21, 2015 I have Zone Alarm firewall on both machinesIt seems I have the same problem with other clients that i tried yesterday, the only exclusion being "Deluge" which is less sluggish, but still has the same speed problem, I seem to always be at around 60-40 kB/s, while with my laptop I can sometimes go over 1MB/s..p.s. that 1 post/day limit is really frustrating :\
DreadWingKnight Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 That 1 post a day limit prevents us from having 50-100 korean spam posts in an hour. As for your main issue, UNINSTALL ZONEALARM. It's notorious for being problematic with p2p applications.
Indigoman Posted May 22, 2015 Author Report Posted May 22, 2015 hmmm... OK, I will try getting a new firewall, although I also have zone alarm on my laptop, and as I said, no problem there...what firewall do you recommend?
PiusX Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 hmmm... OK, I will try getting a new firewall, although I also have zone alarm on my laptop, and as I said, no problem there...what firewall do you recommend? You know XP does have it's own Firewall built in what you need to do next is get MSE and that will more then suffice for your usage...
