Automaticly stop torrent once magnet link populated?

Most everything is in magnet form that I use now, so there's no payload information available on first load.  I have to wait until the torrent meta is populated before I can stop it and select only the files I really want.

 

I'm curious if it's possible to start a DL via a magnet link and to leave the DL running but only as long as it needs to get the payload meta?  I'd like it to automatically stop the torrent once the file list is populated so that if I'm not present when that happens I have the opportunity to de-select the files I don't want from the list before turning it back on again.

What about downloading the metadata without starting the download itself? That way you would add a magnet link to utorrent, that may be queued ... utorrent downloads the metadata, and completes the information for that torrent... But, that torrent is not active and waits for its turn to be downloaded...

I know utorrent is capable of this, because if you wait long enough at the download window that appears when adding magnetlinks, information will be completed eventually... thus, metadata can be downloaded before even starting the download itself..m

To clarify, the process I'm envisioning is this:

1. Click magnet link which triggers the "Add New Torrent" dialog from uTorrent, which due to this being a magnet with no details, is essentiall empty
2. Check box in torrent options that says something along the lines of "Only download torrent details"
3. New item is added to the list in it's empty form and begins to search out peers, I take off for a beer.
4. Torrent meta / file list populated
5. Torrent automatically stops once the file list is available.
6. I come back later and adjust the list of files to only those that I want and manually start the torrent again.  I go back out for more beer.
7. Profit.

From the sounds of it, this doesn't exist, but it would certainly be a handy feature IMO.  If this is the wrong place to suggest this, feel free to migrate it or point me to where I should ask for it.

When the new download window appears, you should see a 'progress circle' at the bottom... Wait for a few moments, data should be populated eventually...

I know it's not really what you are looking for, but for the moment utorrent is limited to that.
