Drolander
I just applied for new 10mbit connection and whenever i tried to set up a static ip address..within the next 24 hours my internet will go haywire due to the lease causing my ports not be forwarded...and when i try to restore my ip address to the one which dhcp gives out randomly..it still stays the same..I never had a single problem with my linksys router(BEFSR41)but i tried using it but it couldn't handle the connection...so does anyone know of a great router (prefarably Linksys)which you guys can recommend? Ultima
Depending on what model you have, it might have a limited amount of connections allowed on the session table. In my case (2Wire HomePortal 100), it only allows a mere 256 simultaneous connections.
Drolander
so what can i do to make my 2700HG restore its dynamic ip after i revert the settings from a static ip address because when I tried do that,my ip address would be the same as the static one but on its webpage its shows the ip was assign by dhcp and not configured manually, causing my internet signal to disappear and i have to wait for a couple of hours and sometimes days for it to appear and weiyong, you're a singaporean?if you are did you also sign up for the 10mbit connection from Singnet?EDIT:sorry it seems my internet plan was 10mbps not 10mbit lol..if that does any difference
Ultima
mbps basically means mbit/s. Um... a static IP is set on your computer, so all you have to do is set it back to automatic wherever you changed it.
Switeck
Do note that when they say you're getting a 10 mbps (or mbit/sec) connection...they mean download speeds. You might only get 1 mbps (mbit/sec) upload speed.
