Dreamzzy
so im experiencing the inability to connect to peers adn DHT is waiting to connect on my desktop running win 8.1.i use avast and tried uninstalling temporarily and no progress.disabled my firewall and nothingi tried a long list of solutions from other threads.no torrents from slackware work eitherhowever my laptop doesnt have an issue downloading at all. same torrents. and no issues. just a fuck ton slower than my desktop. im THINKING the problem is the lan setup in my house. unfortunately its my father in law's house and i cant just rearrange the setup or i wouldanyway its set up as follows > one line to wireless routerLine to modem-->wired router--- > another to a switch--->to the switch in the office we all use. i believe my issue is running through so many switches is ausing a ip conflict or something (not 100% sure as any game or website works and have no problem with any other online activities) any assistance would help. DreadWingKnight
no torrents from slackware work eitherThen something directly in your setup is actively blocking uTorrent. Usually internet security software.
Dreamzzy
So like a firewall built in to the switches? That's a little confusing because each switch is the exact same. Or do you mean more like avast? If so I tried disabling and uninstalling avast to no avail.
DreadWingKnight
Switches don't have the processing power to have firewalls, and they also can't cause IP address conflicts. The routers could be blocking, as could your internet provider.
Dreamzzy
i see what you are saying but the problem lies after the initial router, the first router splits off to 1. the switches leading to my computer and 2. the wireless router. when downloading over wifi its fine but at my desktop at the end of the switches it will not work.this is why i am confused. this also tells me that it isnt the isp since i can still download torrents on my laptop
