davidlatino
I just downloaded utorrent last week and started using it right way, it was working pretty well, but as soon as it finished a few downloads yesterday, I can not longer surf the web while using utorrent at the same time which is really frustrating. Can anyone give me a hand?

davidlatino
Both my download and upload speeds are currently setting to work at 50% of my cable connection capacity, as I said before it was working just fine before…
Switeck
Check µTorrent's Speed logs to see if even it is able to reach the upload speeds you set.If not, then quite likely your connection is no longer as fast as it was. Some ISPs throttle speeds after seeing long periods of high activity, others after a monthly bandwidth amount is reached, and others...use even less defineable rules. schnurlos
Perhaps you made some windows updates, patch your tcpip.sys again?
Ultima
Hm, somehow I think TCPIP.SYS might not be the problem here, since it apparently worked well for several downloads, but it might be worth a try. If none of the above help (Switeck's hypothesis seems logical and likely), try disabling DHT, and if that doesn't work, limit the global maximum number of connections to less than 200 or so. Firon
Use the Speed Guide properly and choose your upload speed in kbit/s.
Oysterall
Hi!YES.I've got NOW the very same issue. I've used uTorrent 1.5 a couple of times since it's release with No bugs and Web browser-interference at all. Now, it's impossible for me to run uTorrent and surf at the same time (Firefox 1.5 or Internet Explorer)Here are more odd things:If all torrents are stopped within uTorrent, websurfing becomes smooth again.I've got the same issue with uT 1.5 and the last beta one!At first,i thought this could come from P2P fitering from my ISP but: If i run Azureus instead of uT with the same torrents i get no troubleshooting while surfing...Well, i really don't understand what's going on...Maybe all this details might help.Thks.PS. I'm on Windows XP + Firefox 1.5.0.4 + uTorrent 1.
Firon
Patch tcpip.sys again. Or reset your net.max_halfopen back to the default.
Oysterall
Hi!Thks for your reply.I haven't changed net.max_halfopen value or any of Preferences > Advanced !Patch tcpip.sys to get more than 10 simultaneous connections, that's right? But uTorrent used to work fine (one or two months earlier) on my computer with it's default configuration! Moreover, if i'm using Azureus i can surf smoothly on the internet! To be accurate, uTorrent 1.5 runs fine, but it's impossible to go to internet at the same time - whether i'm using Firefox or Internet Explorer. It's odd, isn't it?
