8lackie Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 I'd like my utorrent to shutdown automatically if my VPN crashes. Is this something I can make it do? At times I'm not near by and if my VPN fails, Id like my utorrent to close.Sorry if this is a silly question. I did a search but find nothing addressing this concern. Thank you.
Brandy Down Under Posted June 16, 2015 Report Posted June 16, 2015 You have to use a program like VPN Watcher. You start it after you've gotten your VPN connected, and then have it activate uTorrent. If the VPN goes down, the watcher terminates uTorrent. When the VPN reconnects, it will restart uTorrent. This will result in a recheck of active torrents. That's no big deal if your torrents are small, but can be an issue if the torrents are large. If your VPN connection is sketchy, uTorrent will be up and down and may spend more time rechecking any large torrents than downloading. Be careful what you wish for....
8lackie Posted June 18, 2015 Author Report Posted June 18, 2015 Thank you both for the info and warnings.
