Utorrent causes Internet Connection issues in Vista

Hi,

This problem has been frustraiting me for months, even though i seem to have the cause to the problem i have no idea how to fix it.

It started off that i would leave my machine on over night to download something, when i would come back the downloads have stoped, and i notice that i no longer have a connection to the internet, but the network connection still works fine.

there is only one fix for this when it happens and that is to reset my BIOS, sounds extream but its the only thing that works. I've tried updateing drivers, formating and reinstalling Vista, Updateing the bios software. All of these things did nothing to fix the problem. It was only by chance that i found out reseting the bios would fix it.

after discovering the fix it kept on happening and after months of troble shooting i discover one consitancy. It would only happen when i leave my machine on with utorrent running.

This kinda has me stumped now as i've already tried a clean install of windows. by the way it has nothing to do with my connection as it works on another machine i have.

has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas of the cause?

... I doubt it has nothing to do with the connection, especially if you reinstalled vista at least once on your machine. Your hardware between the ISP's modem and your computer is more likely... What is your layout? Modem -> router -> computers ? Have you checked out your router/gateway @ portforward.com?

Modem is a Billion bipac 5102 adsl router.

PC specs

Intel Core 2 Duo 3g processer

Motherboard is an Asus p5n32-E SLI Plus

with 2gb Ram

i'm using the onboard Network adapter, theres 2 ports and it affects both.

basicly my pc is conected directly into the adsl router

Do both computers have their own forwarding rule in the router?

Here's some threads with Billion router models :/ http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=319428#p319428 and http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=262034#p262034 comes up and http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=269560#p269560 mentions UPnP.. are you accessing them via UPnP?
