Auto-Load not working properly

I have a folder setup for my torrent files but uTorrent isn't loading them when new ones appear. Is there a setting I've missed?

That doesn't give enough information. OK you setup a folder. Great where is it? In Ctrl-P -> Other what settings have you changed there? Do you have a default save folder? When you add the torrents, do they disappear or rename as .torrent.loaded ?

Sorry here's some more specific info. It's setup for N:\Temp for the auto-load torrents. I have the delete .torrent instead of renaming when loading checked. No other option is setup.

OK, so does N: exist? When you add the torrent to \Temp does it disappear and uT loads it into torrent storage?

Yes, N: is a real drive. If I put a .torrent file in this folder it does not disappear and get loaded into utorrent. That's the issue I'm having.

Hmm :/ OK, verify Windows paths it correctly by using the Browse (...) button... then use explorer to check properties on that folder... Be sure you have (and uT by association) read and write privileges to that directory

There aren't many other explanations... either uT doesn't see the folder or can't access it.

OK I verified the (...) button and I see the N:\Temp folder without a problem. I went to the General section and clicked the [Associate with .torrent files]. Still doesn't work.

Is this folder different from the .torrent storage folder?

I don't have a .torrent storage folder setup.

(This may sound stupid, but uh, it's happened before... so just to weed out possibilties...)

Make sure you've selected "All" in the category pane (F7) in µTorrent?

I thought of that too But sadly yes, I'm looking at the All (0) field. There is a {blockedname}.torrent file in N:\temp and uTorrent is not finding it.

OK on a whim I tested a different drive letter and folder and auto-load works. Eh.. technology. Go figure.

Hrm. What kind of drive is N:\?

Mapped network drive shared between two computers.

What about the LOCAL settings/permissions on that drive/path? LOL Sorry I didn't ask all this up front. Ultima of course picked up the slack.

@tweaker: I have a feeling it being a mapped network drive might be the source of your problem (though I can't be sure -- I'm confirming with alus). Um, is the second drive letter you tested a normal drive, or is it also a mapped network drive?

uTorrent reads the entire contents of the directory every 2 seconds. You could verify this with Process Monitor. Network drives should work, although it does try both read and write permissions.

I only get torrents to load at the 6-second increment level. This is as far back as I can remember. Is this a recent change?
