XP1 Posted July 20, 2008 Report Share Posted July 20, 2008 VMware's File Transfers from Host to Guest Causes µTorrent to CrashµTorrent will crash every time I try to copy files from the host to the guest operating system while µTorrent is recording data to the same hard drive.For example, if I download torrents onto my H:\ drive with µTorrent and then initiate a file transfer with files about 600MB in size on the same H:\ drive from a Vista x64 SP1 host to a XP x32 SP2 guest, the computer starts freezing and a µTorrent crash dialog appears.There are 2 crash dump files in the µTorrent XP1 Posted July 20, 2008 Author Report Share Posted July 20, 2008 Oh, I forgot to say that µTorrent is running on the Vista host.Here's a checklist to clarify the situation.Steps:1) Run µTorrent on Vista host2) Open a torrent and save output files to H:\ drive3) Run VMware to startup XP guest4) In VMware, enable folder / drive sharing using VMware Tools5) In VMware's XP guest, open \\.\H\Files\6) In the Files folder on the H:\ drive explorer window of the XP guest, copy the 600MB file called Test.rar7) While downloading a torrent, µTorrent on Vista host will crash8) VMware (including XP guest) will freeze with an error message (VMware error, not XP error) to retry, abort, or continue the processI'm using VMware Workstation 6.0.3 Build 80004. If you could, please install the Debugging Tools for Windows: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/DevTools/Debugging/default.mspxand reproduce the crash.
