Ultima
38.100.0.0-38.100.255.255The range is a known poisoning range.
Yehhanyos2008
Thanks, but what about 208.10.23.18 and 209.66.117.66 it also used the same client and it looked fishy anyway! And btw, in ipfilter, should i place the ip ranges like this (xx - yy) or (xx-yy) ?????And with space after each line or not? Ultima
Don't know about those ranges, but that'd be a very large range to ban.
Switeck
With several of the various monitoring companies going bankrupt/closing their doors/getting bought-out, this entire blocklist is out-of-date and of questionable value AT BEST!USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!Those are hostile ips, probably MediaSentry and MediaDefender.Abovenet Communications, Inc NETBLK-ABOVENET2 (NET-209-66-64-0-1)209.66.64.0-209.66.127.255MediaSentry ABOV-T694-209-66-117-0-24 (NET-209-66-117-0-1)209.66.117.0-209.66.117.255MediaSentry is definitely hostile.Abovenet Communications, Inc is just the ISP company that hosts them.Blocking all of Abovenet would probably be overkill.Sprint - Possible SafeNet:208.10.23.0-208.10.23.255208.10.29.0-208.10.29.255AS33020 SAFENET - SAFENET192.43.161.0/24AS38615 SAFENET-IN Safenet Infotech Pvt. Really, blocking ALL of 38.0.0.0-38.255.255.255 isn't totally out of line. There's probably far more out there, but blocking is only marginally effective for fighting poisoners.Blocking is WORTHLESS for hiding your ip from their monitoring...they get your ip from the trackers you're on. Xaero
I use aggressive IP banning and rangeblocks settings and then complete the torrent download and seed as fast as I can but they usually succeed in killing the swarm.Recently a simple solution: Peerguardian
DreadWingKnight
Bluetack's lists (the ones peerguardian users typically use) have been recently reported as funneling users into anti-p2p IP ranges.
Xaero
I make sure I don't have hashfails. Monitor my torrents all the time. Log blocked connections. One that do connect will go in ipfilter.dat
Switeck
Blanket-adding EVERY ip that supposedly caused you a hash error will end up banning both peers+seeds that NEVER sent bad data...and those that sent bad data only once out of potentially GB's of traffic! Yehhanyos2008
So all in all, I recommend blocking these rangesWOW, thanks a million for sharing your list , this is the answer i was looking for , thanks to everyone who participate in this thread too.Speaking of PG2, it does nothing but slowing down your pc, IMO, in addition to those inaccurate lists !! why do people still insist on using it?? i don't know !! Xaero
People who know how to use the software will insist on using it because there are a lot of thing you can do with it that people who don't know how to use it will not know.Use it once and read the documentation! thelittlefire
If you want to filter peers, use ipfilter.dat No extra program running, possibly interrupting your connections. From within uTorrent the peers aren't given access or connected to. http://utorrent.com/faq.php#What_is_ipfilter.dat.3F
