Paine
Generating no activity on any torrents (including open office torrents). The tracker status for all torrents (downloads, and uploads) is constantly stuck on "updating...". I can see that some seeds and peers exist on very few torrents, however I have no idea whether my client has actually made contact with them. (i.e. 0 (267) / 0 (5) on open office).Network light at the bottom is invisible. Ports are definately forwarded. Client is completely responsive, but seems not to actually be *doing* anything. v1.8.1 (build 12639).utris works fine
DreadWingKnight
What internet security software do you have installed?
Paine
Just windows firewall and windows defender, recently installed Avast (after the problems surfaced -- avast is not the cause).
thelittlefire
Have you checked HijackThis logfle to verify your installed software.
Paine
Several times, and nothing suspicious has popped up.HJT logfile
thelittlefire
Indeed that's quite a compact logfile I was hoping for some LSP injection What about uTorrent's process explorer logfile? TCPVew is a GUI for netstat... does it show alot of half-open or SYN connetions?
Paine
Wasn't entirely sure what you meant, so I just thought a screenshot would do the job. Those are the only references to utorrent listed in tcpview. Not sure if this is what you meant by a process explorer logfile, but here goes nothing. DreadWingKnight
Missed the dll list.
Paine
Not sure what I'm doing with process explorer, to be honest. Is this right?
thelittlefire
Regarding the PE logfile, yeah you did it Unfortunately no injections into uTorrent. The only unidentified EXE is your genepccmon.exeWhat happens if you stop/disable the realtime/web monitors in Avast?
Paine
Not a great deal, aside from having one less icon in my systray. (Even after restarting utorrent).

Ultima
Try lowering it to 4 or 2.
Paine
Still "Updating" after changing to 4 and restarting.Ditto with 2.
Ultima
Hrm. Is your internet browsing slowed as well when you're using µTorrent? Can you try some of the suggestions listed in the first link in my signature regarding interrupted/slowed connections? If none of them help, can you provide the rest of the requested information too? Thanks.
Paine
utorrent is not slowing other connections, the updating seems to be "cosmetic" only -- I'm not entirely sure any data is being sent anywhere -- otherwise they would have timed out.Regarding the signature topic -- DHT was already disabled, max_halfopen was lowered to 2 and that had no effect.Disabling UPNP and Nat-PMP fixed it, however.Cheers! I wasn't expecting anything to happen, hehehe.
Ultima
Now that's new... I don't recall seeing UPnP/NAT-PMP ever cause tracker update issues...
Ultima
@Paine: Testing a new theory here... Can you re-enable UPnP and set net.upnp_tcp_only to true to see if the problem persists?
Inventor007
I also turned off nat-pmp (upnp was already off) that solved my always updating problem also...
Paine
The problem does indeed persist with net.upnp_tcp_only enabled.Oddly, unlike Inventor007 my problem is caused solely by UPnP -- NatPMP has no effect whatsoever.
Ultima
Well, there goes that idea, I suppose. What modem and router are you using, by the way?
