uTorrent makes my PC crash all the time

Hello,

as described in the title, my PC crashes every time I use uTorrent. I can start uTorrent and know that maybe 1-5 minutes later (may vary a bit) my PC will crash. Those crashes are immediate freezes of screen, sound and anything. Nothing can be done, only push the power button of the PC and restart.

This has not happened in the past. Before I used uTorrent (don't know the version number now) on Windows XP and it was just fine, no crashes and so on. Now I switched to Windows 7 64bit and the current uTorrent version and have to face now those crashes.

Well, I don't know which additional informations I should include, but I will at least show up the most relevant system specifications:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

RAM: 4GB OCZ DDR2

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3

GPU: Radeon HD 3870

HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F1 640GB

WLAN Card: Asus WL-130N

Can you post Hijackthis and Process Explorer logs when uT is running.

Select utorrent.exe and enable DLL mode (ctrl+d) in Proc. Exp.

And are you running wireless or ethernet? Did you upgrade your drivers?

I post the logs at the end of this post. I hope I did it right with the Process Explorer (had to hurry, because as I said, the freeze comes very fast).

I am running wireless. Yes, I had to switch drivers for it, as I switched from Windows XP to Windows 7 64 bit as I said and so needed other drivers.

Hello,

I have something to add after a bit testing. It does not seem to happen only to uTorrent, but to other Bittorrent clients as well. I tried now using Azureus/Vuze. First it did seem to work well, but after some longer time I had a freeze again. Starting it again, it freezed very fast again.

Strangely I have no freezes in other situations than torrent so far. What issue can there be that makes my system crash while using torrents?

EDIT 2:

It seems I have found the problem. I removed the driver of my WLAN card and took now (after using the driver directly from Ralink instead of Asus which did not work properly though) the driver Windows 7 brings with itself. Now I have no crashes with uTorrent anymore, at least so far.

Indeed, Ralink drivers have been known to be buggy/crashy.
