AvalonX
Hey I'm new here.. You've probably *never* heard this one before.. but I'm having speed problems. I'm with BT Broadband, recently switched from Tiscali. I have a router model; BTHomeHub2.0 Type A with a speed of 54.0Mbps. I use the new UTorrent 1.8.5 and hve always had speed problems.. One time I remember managing to get my speed into the 60s 70s kB/s but at this very moment its highest i've seen is 32 kB/s.I've gone through countless guides trying to make it faster but no luck.. I'm on Windows XP Home edition SP3.Help would be greatly appreciated.. Any information you need for me to provide so you can help, just say and I will. ThanksEDIT: Here is information you might need:Utorrent Settings Currently:Port: 44195Upload Limit: 693 kB/sUpload Slots: 4Connections Per Torrent: 375Global Connections: 375Max Active Torrents: 4Max Active Downloads: 3ENABLED UPnP port mappingENABLED NAT-PMP port mappingUNCHECKED randomize port on each startENABLED Add windows firewall exceptionBANDWIDTH:Max Upload Rate: 693 kB/s (Not checked automatic, Not checked Alternate upload rate)Global Rate Download Limiting (Max Download Rate): 0 (Unlimited)Global & Max Connections/PerTorrent: 375Number of slots per torrent: 4CHECKED Use additional upload slots if upload speed <90%BITTORRENT:Everything checked EXCEPT Limit Local BandwidthProtocol encryption - Outgoing: ENABLED.Checked Allow Incoming Legacy ConnectionsQUEUEING:Max Number Of Active Torrents (Download or Upload): 4Max Number Of Active Downloads:3Ratio: 80%Unchecked seeds have higher priority (Number Box in this section bit is 0)Unchecked Limit the upload rate.BT.TRANSP_DISPOSITION = *255NET.MAX_HALFOPEN = *50PEER.DISCONNECT_INACTIVE_INTERVAL = *600DISK CACHE:Override (Ticked): 1000MBEverything else in this section left untouched.BUTTON AT BOTTOM OF UTORRENT IS GREEN WITH TICK (OK)DHT: 312 Nodes (No idea what this means)[[i USED A PATCH TO LIMIT TCPIP.SYS TO 100.]]My computer Modem is: Conexant HDA D110 MDC V9.2 ModemHope this information can help!! Switeck
You're probably on ADSL and have only about 1/10th as much upload as you told uTorrent to use.2nd link in my signature."NET.MAX_HALFOPEN = *50"Reset that back to 8. uTorrent is much faster unfirewalled than having that set higher."BT.TRANSP_DISPOSITION = *255"Once again, the default setting is best.BT Central ADSL ISP in the UK throttles heavily:http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=58929http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=65333
AvalonX
I'm sorry.. I'm a bit dippy when it comes to these things.. I changed all the settings to default (Litterally the whole thing..)I will do a speed test (shut down everything using internet) then post the results here.. (I'll do three times and get the mean just incase)I tried using your chart but it didnt do much for me..EDIT: TEST RESULTS899 kb Down544 kb Up959 kb Down662 kb Up889 kb Down633 kb UpThe mean for Download: 915.666 (recurring) kb/s (114.45875 kB/s)Mean for Upload: 613 kb/s (76.625 kB/s)
Switeck
Use 512 or 640 kbit/sec upload settings from 2nd link in my signature.Disable Resolve IPs (right-click in PEERS window of a torrent for menu to do that).Reduce bt.connect_speed from 20 outgoing peer/seed connection attempts per second down to 4.(You won't notice a difference, but your ISP is possibly more likely to throttle if you're attempting more connections at a time. And making slightly fewer per second will mean more speed for actually downloading/uploading.)
