uTorrent crashes/stopped working - Flash.ocx [SOLVED]

Hello,

 

I decided to go for my own troubleshooting, as things in the forum looks pretty slow according to my point of view.

 

I was facing an issue when starting my uTorrent client as follows:

 

My app suddenly stopped working, I uninstalled then reinstalled it, after I updated it to the latest release and the same issue persisted. Every time I tried to load the app, I have got the error message in the image below:

 

 

Well just for your information, when you get the typicall crash window (see image above), there is plenty info that you can extract from them, all you need to do is expand the "view problem details" dropdown, in there I spotted the line "fault module name: flash.ocx". This file is just the Adobe Flash Plugin itself, and it is a known issue that when this file becomes corrupted (somehow), you can have different problems.

 

Anyway in order to fix this particular issue with uTorrent client, you have to "Clean uninstall Adobe Flash Plugin", just follow the directions below, NOTICE that there is a whole procedure in this link http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html that I have pulled from Adobe KB.
 

1) Download the Adobe Flash uninstaller, and run it.

 

2) Delete the folder structure for the Adobe Flash.

 

3) Reopen and test that now uTorrent is working.

 

4) Mind that you need the Adobe Flash for many reasons, so better to re-install it after you check that Utorrent is loading fine............................., just go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

I was facing "crash dump error" from your post I found out I didnt have flash player for IE installed. I installed it and thank God it is working now ! .. love you Frankietech xxxx
