http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=131334 still not fixed in 3.3.0.29544.
-
Doesn't happen here.
-
Happens on Win XP SP3 here.
-
Yeah, confirmed here. Doesn't happen with 3.2.x ...
-
3.3 build 29111 seems to be totally unusable here:
-
Build 25460 often doesn't get closed properly here. Remains in taskmanager for hours.
-
Because that's how it works for most other applications. It's not that it's just a thing of some minutes. µTorrent often seems to need several days for it ...
-
Autoupdating doesn't work:(
Yeah, it almost never works
-
- Change: Always show tray icon is always enabled to work around disappearing systray icon
But this makes the "Always show tray icon" option not working anymore. So it should be removed completely.
But why not just going back to the working code from earlier version(s)? Just got broken in one of the last official version(s) ...

Tray icon bug still there in 2.2.1 beta 24796!
-
exactly......set it to "always show"
But for this I have to enable "Hide inactive icons" first. I don't want to set it manually by hand for each application. Disabled "Hide inactive icons" means "always show" applies to all applications.
-
- make sure 'hide inactive icons' is checked
I don't want to enable this. I always want to see all tray icons so I have to let it disabled.

Last night I managed to reproduce the missing systray icon issue. However' date=' I'm not sure it's the same issue as some people have reported. I discovered that if you turn off "slawys show icon in systray", then minimize uT (to systray), exit via the systray context menu. When starting uT up again, it's still minimized by it did not add the systray icon back.[/quote']
I have turned off that "always show icon in systray" option.
But here it goes like this:
-> start Windows XP
-> start DSL dialup connection
-> start uTorrent (not minimized)
-> minimize µTorrent
=> after some time tray icon is gone
-> close µTorrent via Taskmanager
-> restart µTorrent
=> fine
-> reboot Windows XP
-> start DSL dialup connection
-> start uTorrent (not minimized)
-> minimize µTorrent
=> after some time tray icon is gone
-> close µTorrent via Taskmanager
-> restart µTorrent
=> fine
Same in 2.2.1.24649! Tray icon still getting lost
-
Alternatively you use the windows task manager (ctrl-alt-del) to open (switch to) utorrent.
That's not possible when when having that option enabled that only the tray icon is shown when minimized.
-
The utorrent try icon just disappears after a while. To see what is going on with utorrent, you just have to click on the desktop icon and it re-opens utorrent again. It is probably yet another bug.
But I think in this case the "hidden" instance still is running. So I'll end up running two µTorrent instances at the same time this way ...

Version 2.2.1 beta (build 24567) Tray icon disappear after 1 min when win xp sp3 has started:(
Yeah, (most of the time) it seems to happen after Windows XP SP3 has been started/bootet.
-
workaround for missing tray icon:
Options--> Preferences -->UI Settings > System Tray
uncheck all, click Apply, recheck all, click Apply.
This only works if you can get to manage to get to the preferences window. But when running µTorrent just with the tray icon you basically loose the ability to bring µTorrent to foreground at all! So I always have to kill µTorrent from Taskmanager and restart it ...

utorrent icon not in system tray. this problem still exists.
Same here (2.2.1.24266).
With the latest final build I even had to delete the µTorrent settings each time the trayicon disappeared to get µTorrent (re)started again (to see in the tray)!
With the new beta build it seems that you can restart µTorrent with an active trayicon at least.
Same in 2.2.1.24512. Not fixed.
Same in 2.2.1.24567. Still loosing the tray icon smetimes.
-
anyone can confirm µTorrent 2.2.1 beta 24567 build has no flag near at peerlist ???
Can't confirm this. Obviously you just have disabled them! Rightclick an IP address ...

I think that's just a display/refresh problem. Unselecting and selecting the torrent should update the display. But I agree -> It's annoying.
