colbys
Hi:Just new to this file share stuff and so is my 16 year old son but he thinks he knows everything there is because of this he was using limewire and we had viruses so deep it cost me 200.00 to get them removed. I told him he cannot use file share programs like limewire, he said a friend of his said this site is safe and secure. Is this true and do I need to do anything to make it more secure when it is downloaded. I will only download it if I can be assured that viruses, etc. cannot hack into our system again as I cannot afford to have the viruses removed once again. thank you so much for your help and advice
Ultima
There's nothing on this site, in µTorrent, or just BitTorrent in general that is inherently unsafe. It's all about what you download and whether those files are safe.
colbys
So how can one know or control what is safe to download and if the files are safe?
Ultima
By downloading from a trustworthy source. What source is trustworthy? I dunno ;\ Read comments for the torrent files whenever available, keep a good antivirus application around, I guess.
wastelander
U should read carefully any comments available, if people got virus, they tends to stick it there.
