"Seeding"'s meaning

Hello:

I'm translating utorrent to basque language but I have not clear enough how to translate "seeding". Could someone tell me what it means exactly?

Seeding is where you leave your BitTorrent client open after you've finished your download to help distribute it (you distribute the file while downloading, but it's even more helpful if you continue to distribute the full file even after you have finished downloading).

I cannot help you with basque, but the excact meaning of the word in Spanish is "Sembrando" I have translate it like that in catalan, but I'd rather "Compartiendo" even thou this ins not the excat meaning of the word it reflects the spirit of it in this concrete case.

Thanks a lot.

I think I've caught the meaning. It is like if the file in my computer would be as a little seed in a grand pastureland where others can harvest from.

According to the Babylon translator "seeding" means "the one who seeds". That definition confused me.
