FauxReal
I recently replaced my hard drive, as the old one died. It's been less than a week since I have installed Windows and µtorrent. Torrents seem to work fine, but I've noticed today that I keep getting this message about every 10 minutes...Error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. It stops the torrent, but I start it again and it appears to work fine.My question: Is my new HDD causing this? Or could it be my router settings? Thanks in advance
Ultima
I/O means disk input/output error. It's a problem with the disk and/or anything associated (like the cables, etc). Try checking it for errors with some utility like chkdsk or SpinRite (or something), and try reseating the cables.
GTHK
In addition to reseating the cables, make sure the cables aren't damaged, I had a damaged cable that broke about 4 drives. Luckily, Maxtor replaced all of them because they were under waranty, and I got upgraded from a 60 to an 80 GB which now sits in my PS2 .
