no one should be using any version after 2.2.1 anyhow it was the last greatest version' date=' no bugs, tiny, no toolbar, and is super fast.[/quote']
Yes, but the security holes...
are a myth. firon, the one utorrent guy i actually trust, said there were no security issues with 2.2.1 apart from some unspecified dht exploit.

I don't know what to say. We haven't even released the product yet. Our loyal users are the very first people we discussed this with. And here I am at nearly 3am talking to you, a loyal user. To say we don't mind what our loyal users do...I don't get it. Perhaps I'm just digging myself in further and there's nothing I can say. I will say...will you hang in there with us a bit more, Bombora? And others of you? Again, at least see how things play out here. Will you keep talking? I hope so.
you haven't discussed anything with us, you simply said "next version is going to have ads, lol". that's not a discussion. if you were listening to what we're saying now, you'd recall that decision. again, no discussion, only talking at us.
Your post brings up an important point: What are we doing with our revenue?- For one thing, we continue to invest in the product reduced memory consumption, improved disk performance, improved utp, improved stability, and again - NO big new features planned (we may even trim).
- We invest in bringing UT to new platforms: android, WinRT, Chrome OS, TVs, DMAs, etc.
- We invest in other decentralized, free, user-controlled p2p systems: Live, Storage, Backup, Search, etc.
- We work with artists, large and small, to get them in front of our users, present and even monetize their content on their behalf as an alternative to the usual channels. See http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/blogs/gear-up/dj-shadow-becomes-first-artist-to-strike-payment-deal-with-bittorrent-20120731 and http://blog.utorrent.com/2012/07/26/whats-new-the-dj-shadow-revolution-radiohead-is-our-friend-last-day-to-win-more/
The point is, we're doing a lot more than we ever have, and that takes people and resources.
yeah, come back when you've removed all the useless crud in 3.x (especially retarded context menu items like "converted files" - who the hell uses a download program for conversion?) and i'll gladly update. (ads obviously fall under "useless crud").

hmm ... I am a bit curious here -
How many of the people here stopped using Google (website|search) since they've started showing sponsored ads/links on top (plus clicked your IP away on *every* link you've found)?
Have any of you stopped using youtube since they are showing a sponsored clip on top when you search ?
And there are 1000s more examples of ad-ware the we all use.
... Who knows... it may also motivate uTorrent devs to improve the client even more over the competition, so to get even more people to use it (true, and make more profits.
your point is moot, smart people use ad block. smart people will also not use crapware when there are better alternatives available. besides that, if the latest changes are any indication of what utorrent inc. thinks of as an "improvement", their eagerness to work on utorrent is inversely proportional to its quality.
If you want to get money out of me, and restore faith in your product, release a "lite" version of uTorrent. Hell, I would gladly pay the "Pro" price for it. Strip out the apps, ads, social functions, all the "Plus" features, transcoder, setup wizards ads, and so one and you've sold me.All I want from uTorrent is what is was originally designed to be, a minimalist and no-nonsense client. Just a basic downloader with no bloat.
liston to this man. i would pay a fiver for that.

37 negative posts, 0 neutral or positive posts. yep, that went about as well as could be expected.

utorrent continues its downward spiral. ever since 3.0 came out utorrent only ever gets bloat and ads, never features people actually want.
-
I estimate that a couple of screenshots instead of the weird artificial man that takes up 1.5 screens would lead to a twofold increase in popularity.
A few notes on the upcoming changes to uTorrent

you can block google's click tracking with userscripts. i guess we'll start seeing utorrent cracks now.
