  1. I'm running uTorrent 0.9.3 on a 13" MBP with SL 10.6.2 and with the last 2 builds I get very very slow Force re-checks on my torrents. I downgraded to build 17898 and the force recheck now works fine... I'm not sure if the torrent/file size matters, but the torrent that I noticed has this problem is 6GB iso file... + 2-3 pics in the torrent.

    P.S with the latest build I had like 0.1% recheck per 5-10 seconds, while with build 17898 I get 0.5% per second on the 6GB torrent...

    Are you doing anything else that is CPU or HDD-heavy? If so, µT may be throttling itself on purpose, to prevent everything else from slowing down. I'm not sure if this change made it into the new build or not though.

  2. 01/11/09 02:04:12 Warning uTorrent[1409] *** _NSAutoreleaseNoPool(): Object 0x20ca00 of class NSPathStore2 autoreleased with no pool in place - just leaking Stack: (0x913dbf4f 0x912e9637 0x912f138f 0x912f0e8e 0x912f594b 0x26fa 0x8fe12f36 0x8fe0e7e3 0x8fe0e8c9 0x8fe04102 0x8fe07bcf 0x8fe01872 0x8fe01037)

    Is a harmless message. Well, it'll leak memory, but it won't cause µTorrent to crash.

  3. Do you refuse to acknowledge this fact?

    I'm not going to acknowledge something that I can't reproduce and that I haven't heard any details on.

    However, note: I'm not a developer of µTorrent. So whether I think there is a bug here or not is irrelevant, I'm not the one that you have to convince.

    And you should use the latest version because that is the only one that we provide support for.

  4. For those of you who have the 100% cpu bug, do you have any upload/download max limits set?

    @dep:

    First: The torrents are saved by uTorrent. Look in ~/Library/Application Support/uTorrent.

    Second: What doesn't function as reported?

    It sounds like you have a different issue then this thread is discussing. Try making a new one or finding the proper thread before complaining and/or asking for help.

  5. Take a sample before you clear out your settings. Open Activity Monitor, select uTorrent and hit 'Sample' in the bar on the top. Then pastebin the sample and paste the link to it here.

    Without the sample, its much harder for the devs to fix the bugs; the sample shows what uTorrent is having the cpu do.

    /edit: merged two threads about the same issue for clarity when browsing / finding issues.
