BlueKnight
Hi UTorrent peopleI just installed uTorrent. I badly need to download big files, but just cannot. It is because I am behind a proxy. In fact, I am using the fast internet connection in my office, but the connection is behind a government proxy. I would like to know what I can do to be able to use utirrent behind the proxy. thanks a lot in advance.BlueKnight
Wobbud
Unfortunately you probably can't do this, unless your company has a very lenient user policy. The only way to find out would be to ask the admins to allow uTorrent connections but I wouldn't bother if I were you.
atm999
Use forced encryption, and a lazy bitfield.
Wobbud
That probably won't do anything within a corporate network such as a government one, I can't use uTorrent at work either, it's very restrictive on port usage and even using port 80 doesn't work.(BTW I'm not asking for help because I don't want to use it at work, I control it my home PC using the webUI, I'm just offering my personal experiences.) asmo
at my office (I'm an IT) we have blocked bittorrent, but if you use forced encryption with no legacy connections on a random port, I can download Naruto during lunch :-p
