paokun
hi everyone,i'm new to the forum, i'd like to thank for utorrent, a really great program!:-)today for the first time i opened the ports so my download speed became about 25-30 times faster than before.i wanted to ask, in this way i "can be seen" by more users, so the speed increases.if i "cannot be seen" is there a higher privacy or no one can see me, or it doesnt matter?before i could download and upload in any case without problems but with a much lower speed which actually i thought it was the max i could pretend.anyway, now i'm much happier, just i wanted to know if by opening/closing ports there are some changes about the privacy or not, i hope someone can have an answer, thanks! Ultima
Nope, if a program isn't listening on the opening port from the inside (your computer), it's not open to the outside.
paokun
hmm it means there is more privacy?and if it's not open as it was before, how could i still download and upload (with lower speed)?
Ultima
No, it doesn't make any difference, except that it allows you to get incoming connections when µTorrent is running. No change, at all, otherwise.
