Creating Downloads that are NOT in the index and cannot be deleted

I've been using uTorrent for YEARS. I've had a bug I've learned to live with. With each update I lose my settings and have to reselect the columns I want displayed, their widths etc. I reported this bug and tried all the proposed fixes with no success but nevermind - I can live with this   :)

My current bug is more insidious and downright annoying I'm afraid.

I've used Opera to get my torrents which only has 4 VPN sites so they NOW easily get flooded so I have to use the Magnet links. These come up with the spinning wheel and I sometimes inadvertently jump the gun and click OK while the wheel is still spinning.  When this happens the download is NOT added to the index list of downloads and the mp4 file gets "LOCKED". Because the download is not in the index I cannot use uTorrent to delete the download after viewing - I have to use a file utility to do so. When I do this I get the message "The action cannot be completed because the file is open in uTorrent". From this point I can do NOTHING to delete these files.  Closing uTorrent doesn't free up the lock. Even reloading and restarting Windows 10 does NOT release the lock....   I have some files that have been locked for weeks. I have shutdown (and restarted) my desktop many times since but the files concerned remain "locked"?   :(

I have 6 or 7 of these "locked" files.  Sometimes one of these "locked" files is released and CAN de deleted by the file utility (File Explorer?). If the Download has 4 files filename.mp4, filename.nfo, RARBG_DO_NOT_MIRROR.exe and RARBG.nfo then ONLY the mp4 file is locked, the other 3 CAN be deleted by the file utility    :(

Like I said - I have half a dozen of these "locked" files at the moment    :(

Please help   :(

Edit 1:- I have 13 files locked at last count.  When the mp4 file in the download directory is locked the torrent file is also locked in the torrents directory   :(

Edit 2:- Windows went through an update and i discovered another anomaly......   Like I said - Usually only one file was locked (the main mp4 file) so I deleted the other files in the download. After the Windows update ALL the deleted files were re-downloaded and 10 of the 13 folders were NOW deleteable so I deleted them. After the next switch off and on the 10 folders that I deleted were redownloaded AGAIN so I deleted them again!  Now every time I switch off and on again ALL the deleted files are redownloaded.  REALLY STRANGE!!!!

Also I'm a bit disappointed with not getting any response to my report.....   I was expecting better   :(

Edit 3: Windows 10 just updated and uTorrent has redownloaded (completely) the 10 folders that were locked and deleted before. The files that were deleted in the other 3 folders have also redownloaded   :(     There must be a link somewhere that causes these 13 folders to be redownloaded with cold switch on????  Or maybe there is an indicator in the also locked torrent files that cause these downloads to be redownloaded?????   It is obvious that nobody here has the same problem nor know the solution   :(  The developers of uTorrent also obviously don't read these comments   :(  I suppose I'll try a Windows forum for support as none is forthcoming here   :(  Also I should look for an alternative download App   :(
