utorrent ignores my proxy

Hello, I want to use utorrent with proxy. I set up SSH Tunnel to work with proxy, fill in all the fields in the proxy page... (socks5, localhost, port)... Then I start utorrent and it ignores the proxy info I entered (actually link to ssh tunnel) and just downloads without it. I know it ignores it because even if I turn off ssh tunnel it will still continue downloading uninterrupted, it should halt all activity without the ssh tunnel on... - I am not sure why it would do this?
