swiftd
Hey guys, I'm trying to set up my uTorrent connection using the stickied mini-guide, but when I test my bandwidth speed I get vastly different results depending on if the test server is in my country (Australia) or in the US. I average around 6mbs on Australian ones, but only 1.2ish on US ones. Which speed should I use to calculate my settings?
Ultima
The server closest to you. Don't use the mini-guide. Use the Speed Guide included in µTorrent. And select your upload speed, not download speed.
jmmtn4aj
The results you obtain on connection testers are bottlenecked any of the hops between you and the test server. Basically what you really want to know the maximum output and input of YOUR end, regardless of which server youre connected to. Since choosing a server closest to you reduces the number of hops between you and the server, and thus the chances of being severely bottlenecked, it's the most accurate in determining the max input/output of your connection.
