edogawaconan
My connection:- Port 20, 21, 22, 23, 80, 113, 443 is open which I can set up ftp/http/telnet/ssh server without any trouble- But all http connection (to browse internet) must go through a proxyI set uTorrent to accept connection at port 443, and set the proxy. DHT is turned off. TCPIP.sys is not patched but the rest in http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 is done. Speed test can't be done because the connection here uses different route between universities and anything else (any peers that located in university get higher speed than other (upload and download))Until recently, I can download torrents just fine but sometimes get "Proxy connect error: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. " on tracker status. Updating it usually solve the problem. But now, I can't connect to trackers anymore and keep getting "Proxy connect error: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. ". Loading torrents via URL is not working too (same message). Browsing with browser works just fine.- Why can this happen?- Is there difference in uTorrent and browsers (just say Firefox) in connecting via proxy?update: It seems there's something wrong with the proxy in past few hours and it now able to connect to tracker correctly. But the error hasn't gone completely.
Ultima
Indeed, that's definitely a proxy issue. It's either a case of the proxy being stupid/unreliable (as you pointed out), or maybe your university's starting to mess with traffic detection for the proxy... or something. Either way, it's not a µTorrent issue.

Ultima
It's a browser. µTorrent isn't. Although BitTorrent may use HTTP to communicate with trackers, proxies can still filter tracker communication.
