PhilA
Because of bad seeds becoming more prevalent, wouldn't it make sense to use small pieces, rather than 2 Mb sized just for song titles? I've obtained songs with 100's of pieces in each, and with no problems. On the other hand, the large-pieced files seem to attract the scummy dross who poison them, and problems are more common. If there was a way to check pieces before downloading; actually I think there is a way, it would negate the problem altogether.Currently, those who are unintentionally poisoning, should be made aware that they should not alter the files in any way before they've finished sharing or seeding them. Ultima
Small pieces mean more overhead. Letting µTorrent automatically select the piece size is probably a good idea.
PhilA
yes, but what's overhead?
Ultima
More time/bandwidth spent requesting pieces?
PhilA
ok thanks. Only in my experience I didn't notice any lag with a large number of pieces, though I'm on a slow connection presently anyhow.
